Posted by: J@rg0n Jul 13 2005, 12:58 PM

hi,

recently i've been using VLC player for a few files, and was wondering if it supports 5.1 sound. couldn't find it on the settings page...

if anyone knows if it is possible or how to do it, please let me know smile.gif

It would be disappointing if it doesn't have anything more than 2.1 support! crying.gif

it detects what the sound in the movie was ripped at, it plays 5.1 if the movies encoded like that, otherwise leave it on stereo your sound card drivers should do the rest.

thanx, would've been nice if it did the same as winamp when you play a file with 2 channel sound on a 5.1 system though...
