I bought this thing a while back and still haven't installed it yet.
I want to use some arctic silver 5, instead of the heat paste that it came with, for better cooling. when i used AS5 on my cpu i just put a small blob in the middle (like the instructions described) coz it reconed it was better to not smooth the paste around so as to avoid air getting into the mixture.
should i do the same when installing this heatsink on the north bridge? is the NB like a cpu in that the chip itself rests under the plastic/metal cover or is the NB the entire "black plastic square thing" and should be covered entirely with heat paste. In which case how does one apply AS5 in that manner?
[edit: sorry i should have put this in the cooling section - didn't see it - my bad]
