Hey everyone.

A few days ago I recieved an email from mail( at )thepub.co.za or something like that. The email told me that I have to read the attached document to find out why my email account will be disabled.

Since the email came from the administrators or something to do with webmail, I thought that opening the document should be fine. To my suprise it was just something that messed my PC up. It opened up a bunch of weird programs and didnt allow me to open my task manager. So I used a program I have to end all programs I didnt want running. This allowed me to use my task manager again.

But ever since then, when I open up my windows media player, I get the message: "An internal application error has occurred". I dont know if it has to do with that file, but this is so irritating, because I use windows media player regularly.

Is there anyway to stop this error from coming up?

thanks
kevin

Easy. Run Virus Scan and Reinstall Windows Media Player.

Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs, Double click that. Scroll down untill you see Windows Media Player 10. Click Change/Remove and just follow the prompts. I think a good idea is to uninstall windows media player format runtime aswell. They will be reinstalled when you install media player again.

killerkevin, unfortunately when your Windows Media Player is broken the chances of fixing it is very slim - since it is so closely integrated with Windows. Chances are you are going to have to reinstall your system completely to get it working.

As a side note though - which version are you running? If its an older version you can maybe try upgrading to the newest one?
